Ok, you’re new here, and you don’t know who’s who and what’s what, so here is a comprehensive list of all the little puzzle pieces which make up School Daze.

General Information

As you have probably already noticed, all the characters are the same height. This is because it’s a lot easier to draw people like that. In fact, that rules governs most of the things I draw. People are usually all the same height, their eyes are almost always anchored to a line (it’s on notebook paper), and they almost always are dresses in long sleeves and long pants. These factors all end up making it easy to draw these and hard to understand them. If you don’t understand a joke, or if you can’t see what it says, just e-mail me and I’ll tell you what I meant.

Boulder Shores High School

Good old BS High School (Yea, I know. It’s supposed to be like that. If u don’t get it, look at the “BS” part and think about it. If you still don’t know, ask your mommy…). You might say it looks like a prison spliced with a school. Well, it is. This is my version of my school, also known as “the portal to hell.” You think it’s a joke, but I swear I’ve seen some horns on my teachers…

Ted Finnigin

Ted is the star of School Daze. He’s the one who gets to say all the witty one-liners and he’s the one who always looks at things in a different light. He’s also a sarcasm factory. In fact, Ted is an extension of myself. He gets to do everything I think of doing, but don’t because I’ve grown accustomed to NOT being incarcerated. He’s my hero! I also like Ted because if everyone was a little more like him, I believe we could annoy teachers into quitting, and after all, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Bill McGuffin

Good old Bill. He’s been here since the first real comic written in that little black notebook (which has been taken away from me on several occasions by several different authority figures). He started with having almost no personality and, ummm, he still has the personality equivalent of a wet log, but I’m working on it! He’s showing signs of life every now and again, and usually he says something cute at the end of a comic making me smile. Then again, sometimes he’s the one who gets hurt at the end of a comic… making me smile.

Jane Blain

Jane Blain is extremely hard to write for because she’s a chick and who the hell knows how THEY think?! She would probably get a lot more screen time if it wasn’t for that and the fact she’s harder to draw than Bill is. I still put her in whenever the person is getting a minor prank pulled on them. It’s funnier when it happens to her. I don’t know why. You might even notice a little bit of flirting between her and Ted. I would tell you if something was going to happen if I knew, but unfortunately I feel reluctant to give Ted a girlfriend just because he’d have to be nice to her, and nobody wants that.

Mr. Stibbins

Satan, er, I mean Mr. Stibbins is the main teacher in School Daze, and he also is usually the voice of the evil which is the Boulder Shores High School’s faculty. He is the one who gives the student body evil punishments for doing nothing, but on the same note, he’s also a sponge for Ted’s hilarious form of abuse. :-) He often is made fun of, but try not to feel to bad because he always gets even. I’ve never crunched the numbers, but I think Ted and Mr. Stibbins keep even in the punishment/prank department. Unfortunately, Mr. Stibbins will probably win in the end, you know, being the ruler of the forces of evil and all.

The Library Nazi

The Library Nazi is definitely based on a real life person. A certain librarian at my school doesn’t seem to like his job so he decided that he’d just abuse his power in order to annoy students and make our lives more miserable, making him feel better. Sure, it might sound like I’m bitter, but maybe next time he’ll let me go out the back door!!!

Al Nonomous

I love the name Al Nonomous! I’m sure you’ve figured out the joke in it, but if not, just stare at it long enough till you get it or die of exhaustion. Either is fine with me. Anyway, Al is the extra of School Daze. If someone needs to be beaten horribly for a laugh, Al takes one for the team. His hair changes sometimes so it’s like Ted’s except messier, but it’s always the same guy at heart. I just hope he doesn’t become a regular, because then who’s gunna eat the school food by accident?
